Wingate/Campbell House 1850: Italianate.
Wingate was a manufacturer of blinds, sashes and doors in 1870. The house was acquired in 1881 by G.R. Campbell who owned Cherryfield's largest lumber manufacturing and mercantile firm.
To transport its own products, Campbell’s firm built at least three ships in shipyards south of the historic district on the eastern side of the Narraguagus River.
